General Studies Unit
The General Studies Division is an academic support unit which was established in 1977 in the Vice Chancellor’s office. It is the only Division in the University. Presently, the Division is housed in its permanent building that is situated between the Faculty of Life Sciences and the Geology Department.
To assist students to develop and expand the awareness of their social, cultural and physical environment .
To socialise the Nigerian students to cultivate desirable behaviours, attitudes, patriotism, and nationalism
To serve as good source of information to students who want to understand the nature of science and its importance to human existence
To equip students with the 21st century skills in communication and information technology with the course on Digital Skills Acquisition
