I sincerely welcome you on behalf of the staff of the General Studies Division, University of Ilorin, Ilorin. I was appointed as the Director of the division by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Egbewole (SAN), in August 2023. The General Studies Division is directly under the supervision of the Vice-Chancellor’s office. The division is supporting all Faculties and Departments in the University. Students in 100-300 levels are expected to register for GNS/GST courses before graduation. Competent lecturers are drawn to teach the approved courses from different Departments in the University. The unit is always ready to assist the students to accomplish their desires in their chosen academic pursuits. The students are therefore encouraged to attend lectures promptly at the appointed time through the Learning Management System (LMS) of the University of Ilorin.
To assist students to develop and expand the awareness of their social, cultural and physical environment .
To socialise the Nigerian students to cultivate desirable behaviours, attitudes, patriotism, and nationalism
To serve as good source of information to students who want to understand the nature of science and its importance to human existence
To equip students with the 21st century skills in communication and information technology with the course on Digital Skills Acquisition
