Academic Functions

The GNS Division is responsible for the teaching of six General Studies Courses to Regular, Sandwich, and SASAKAWA undergraduate students of the University.  The courses, which are mostly 2 credits units except one are all required, and are, therefore, expected to be passed by all students undergoing any of the undergraduate degree programmes in the University before they can graduate.

The GNS Courses

(i) GNS 111 – Use of English 1 (including Use of Library) (2 credits)
(ii) GNS 112 – Use of English II (2 credits)
(iii) GNS 211 – Philosophy, Logic and Nigerian Culture (2 credits)
(iv) GNS 212 – Introduction to Social Sciences and Citizenship Education (2 credits)
(v) GNS 311 – History and Philosophy of Science (2 credits)
(vi) GNS 312 – Digital Skill Acquisition (1 credit)
